Ariel Atom Information Resource

The Atom, produced by British motor company Ariel, was designed as a minimalist yet innovative race car with performance and engineering in mind. Amazingly, it is the first new vehicle to come from the Ariel Motor Company in nearly 27 years, but, as you'll see, it was well worth the wait.

The most striking feature in this Ariel Atom Front Viewvehicle is the exposed tubular chassis, a true example of form following function. This racecar-influenced design was developed from scratch by Simon Saunders Automotive Design along with help from Bilstein, Eibach, British Steel, Delphi, and many of the country's leading engineers. With such an advanced design team, it is no wonder the Ariel Atom meets the quality and performance standards of any motoring enthusiast.

And speaking of performance, the Ariel Atom is powered by a Honda iVTEC 4 cylinder engine with a displacement of 1998cc which puts out 220bhp. This, combined with a 6 speed close ratio gearbox, provides for literally outstanding performance in a vehicle only weighing in at 1,005 pounds.

Matched with its incredible performance, the Atom, with its large diameter, light weight steel chassis, also offers more driver protection than other cars in its class. The tubular frame's high side rails are complemented by integral front and rear rollover tubes, forming a safety barrier around both driver and passenger.

As you can see, the Atom is a true racecar loaded with only the necessities. For more information, check out the Ariel Atom specifications, photos, and news!
